Scholarships for Graduate Students for 2005-2006
Application deadline: March 1, 2005.
The Objectivist Center is pleased to announce that it plans to provide one or more scholarships for graduate students for the 2005-2006 academic year. The Center will offer up to a maximum of $11,000 annually in living expenses and tuition and fees to support qualified students pursuing advanced degrees in philosophy and closely related fields such as psychology and cognitive science. The goal of this program is to aid students with long-term scholarly interests in Ayn Rand and Objectivism to complete their degree programs and begin taking part in teaching, researching, and writing on a professional basis.
Candidates will need to submit an application specifying their needs, goals, academic record, and degree of familiarity with Ayn Rand and Objectivism. Scholarship applicants are expected to use the scholarship funds to enhance their ability to focus on their research or studies. In addition, they are required to take part in some TOC training activities. The Center wishes to support scholarship on topics that are germane to Objectivism, but does not insist that the study or research programs it supports directly promote Ayn Rand or her specific arguments.
Application forms are available online or through contacting the Center. The application deadline for scholarships starting in Fall of 2005 is March 1 and initial awards will be announced by March 28, 2005.
