Edward Hudgins Joins TOC Staff to Open Washington Office

The Objectivist Center is pleased to announce that it has appointed Edward L. Hudgins to launch a new branch office in Washington, D. C. and to serve as a senior writer and spokesman.

Edward HudginsHudgins has served as senior economist at the Joint Economic Committee in the U. S. Congress, a policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation, and, most recently, Director of Regulatory Studies for the Cato Institute. He has won national recognition for his work on privatizing such government "enterprises" as Amtrak, the Postal Service, and the space program. He has lectured frequently at TOC's Summer Seminar and written for Navigator.

"Ed brings with him years of experience and a strong record of success as an effective writer, speaker and activist," says executive director David Kelley. "He adds new depth to an already strong team. From our new Washington office, he will help us bring our work to a new level of public awareness and impact."

His articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and scores of other publications, and he has edited several books on regulatory issues. He is a frequent guest on radio and television programs such as "Dateline NBC," CNN, and Fox News.

From the Center's new office in Washington, a major center for media and policy research, Hudgins will expand the impact of the Center's cultural agenda. "Our long-term goal," he notes, "is to have the Objectivist perspective recognized as an identifiable cultural voice in the same way that libertarianism has emerged as a political perspective distinct from conservatism and American liberalism."
